‘Talking Rubbish’ and 'Finding the Message in the Mess’ with PMB Children
KPCA is developing resources to teach our children to keep our city clean, neat and green. We also value the creativity of our teachers in PMB and would love to endorse and share your ideas and projects. We encourage you to contact us and join our KPCA EDUCATION Whatsapp Group. We are looking for ‘Captains’ in our schools to champion KPCA projects.
KPCA opportunities for schools include:
1. KPCA Presentation to school: ‘Talking Rubbish’ and ‘The Message in the Mess’.
This is a dynamic PowerPoint presentation and school challenge for large groups but can also be done (in a workshop format) with smaller groups like Enviro Clubs.
2. KPCA Recycling Initiatives.
Recycling is one of the most important projects a school can embrace. KPCA can help you inspire your school community to recycle. We can also connect you to a local recycler to help you establish your recycling programme.
3. KPCA ‘Adopt-A-Spot’ (this is done in principle)
The area around your school speaks volumes about your values. KPCA encourages schools to clean and beautify their verges.
4. Community Service Programme for scholars in Grade 10, 11 & 12.
KPCA is happy to provide the teacher in charge of community service with indemnity forms, logs and yellow bags (when available). It is the teacher’s prerogative to ensure that the community service obligations for learners are adhered to.
5. Community Clean-ups.
Schools may wish to host their own community clean-ups, and KPCA can support your efforts by providing yellow bags and social media support. Schools are invited to participate in KPCA’s Mandela Day and World Clean-up and Recycling Week.
6. Campaigns, Competitions and Projects to raise awareness and funds for the work that KPCA is doing in PMB.
KPCA invites schools to ‘rise and shine’ and join our efforts to save our beloved city. Please contact us for more information on our latest campaign.
7. Awards
KPCA was well known for its Awards Programme. We look forward to relaunching this programme in for PMB schools and clubs.
